LOCATION ADVANTAGE: COMPETENCE.
The FEhS Institute is more than an institution. We see ourselves as part of a widely distributed international network, which concerns itself with the production, use and quality assurance of ferrous slag and construction materials.
Our 34 members are proof of this, as are other companies from the steel and construction materials industry that are contractually associated with us, both within Germany and abroad, and numerously other cooperation arrangements!
We work together with national and international industrial associations, public authorities and standardisation committees, as well as scientific and research institutions. Examples include the German Association for Construction Materials, Stone and Earth, the European slag organisation EUROSLAG, the Technical Association for Ferrous Slag, the German Steel Federation, the European Steel Association EUROFER, the German Institute for Standardisation (DIN) and the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN), the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety, the Federal Environmental Office, RWTH Aachen University, and the Technical University of Munich.
Furthermore, we are in close contact with the Non-Ferrous Slag Quality Control Association and the Ferrous Slag Quality Control Association of the German Institute for Quality Assurance and Labelling, both of which are based within our complex of buildings.
Research assignments for the European Union also attest to the internationally renown of the FEhS Institute, as do visits from foreign experts and scientists – the FEhS Institute is often a sought-after contact for bachelor and master’s theses and dissertations.
