ENVIRONMENT
The protection of soil and groundwater is of great importance when using mineral building materials from industrial processes (secondary building materials). Regardless of their area of application, whether in road, path and hydro engineering or in cement-bound construction methods, the environmental compatibility of these building materials must be ensured. For this reason, the environmental area can be understood as an interface, since the environmental topic touches every application area and thus every department of the FEhS Institute.
With our extensive expertise and equipment, we investigate and evaluate the environmental compatibility of your building materials in accordance with legal requirements in the regional, national and European context. We check all environmental specifications and legal regulations to ensure that they are up to date and are strictly adhered to.
Thanks to our experience and detailed knowledge of all current lists and regulations at the state and federal level, we are able to take into account the requirements that are important to you during analysis, evaluation and consulting.
Ferrous slags are registered with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) as UVCB substances (Unknown or Variable composition, Complex reaction products or Biological materials). Registration takes place through the REACH Ferrous Slag Consortium (RFSC) under the leadership of the FEhS Institute as consortium manager. We advise and support you in the registration of your slags.
